Arab-China Cooperation and Development Association Celebrates Graduation of Lebanese University Chinese Department Students: Culture, Cooperation, and Hope for the Future

To express its recognition of the Chinese language and affirm the students who chose to major in it, the Arab-China Cooperation and Development Association held its annual graduation ceremony in 2025 at its headquarters in Badaro, Beirut, honoring the graduates of the Chinese Department at Lebanese University.

Attendees included First Secretary Wu Shatao and Fan Ziheng from the Chinese Embassy, along with several guests concerned with cultural and academic affairs

The event began with the national anthems of Lebanon and China. Following this, graduate Rayan Nader delivered a speech on behalf of the class, sharing the challenges and passions experienced during university, and emphasizing that through learning and exposure to a new culture, they had opened the door to a whole new world.

Association President Kassem Tfailli highlighted the importance of academic and cultural cooperation between Lebanon and China, stressing the Association’s commitment to supporting students, helping them plan successful careers, and providing them with greater access to job opportunities related to Arab-China relations.

Retired Brigadier General Elias Abou Jaoude also addressed the audience, congratulating the graduates and praising their persistence in pursuing their dreams despite Lebanon’s ongoing difficulties and challenges. He noted that Chinese has become a promising choice of study, especially as China’s global influence continues to rise. He also mentioned events organized by the Chinese Chess Association both in Lebanon and abroad, and announced the upcoming launch of Chinese chess training courses in cooperation with the Association.

Later, with representatives from the Chinese Embassy participating, graduation certificates were presented one by one to the graduates, amid enthusiastic applause from family and friends—making for an emotional scene.

The graduates, dressed in traditional Chinese attire, performed a Chinese song, earning waves of applause and admiration from the audience.

The ceremony concluded with a cocktail reception, held in a joyful atmosphere filled with youth and hope, for the graduates and attending guests.

The Arab-China Cooperation and Development Association warmly congratulates the following graduates and sincerely wishes them a bright and successful future.
